Welcome to Western Lehigh's Fall Festival # 14
Coaches, managers, parents and players, we have planned a great weekend of soccer for everyone. Due to the amount of teams we had to turn away last year, we added a new field site to accomodate more teams for the first time in 8 years.
We hope to deliver a great weekend of soccer for all your players and their families.
Please print & read the following information carefully.
Registration Procedure - The coach must show up 45 minutes before the first game.
Please include your local contact if you are staying over
Medical Release Update - In discussing medical releases with the Eastern PA state office they have slightly changed their stance. Notarized medical releases are preferred, but ORIGINAL medical releases are acceptable (original meaning not a xerox copy). Since our registrars cannot be held responsible for verifying original versus copy they will only verify that you brought medical releases with you. In the end YOU are liable for your players’ safety and you need to make sure that the paperwork you have is valid in case of emergency. At registration you show them to us and we give them back. If they are not notarized you are at risk that the medical facility may not accept them without contacting a parent. This happened at a tournament nearby where the situation was not critical but the player felt she needed attention. Safety First … get them notarized. Click on sample medical release to see our form.
Insurance Verification - In EPYSA each club is issued a green card verifying that the club has valid secondary medical insurance coverage for players. Clubs that do not buy their secondary medical coverage through the state are required to have a waiver signed by the state. Non-EPSYA teams need to check with their club or state association. To see our card, click on Western Lehigh card.
Tournament Shirts are available to pre-order. Deadline is postmarked by Monday, October 3. Shirts will also be available at all tournament sites until sold out. To order click on order form.
Schedules are posted.
Go to schedule information and find your team # and site
This year we have 15 fields at 4 different sites.
Once you have your team #, find your game times at your site.
Everyone gets 4 games scheduled (8 team division have playoff games)
Once the schedules are complete, see the write up on how your division works.
Watch your game times carefully. Every site uses staggered start, so every field at every site has different game times. This made scheduling difficult but tremendously improved traffic flow.
If you find back to back games, email jansteltz@aol.com with the team #, team name and age. We reserve the right to change schedules to correct errors or omissions. In addition, if a team drops out, we reserve the right to re-schedule games if time permits us to communicate the changes.
The 11 v 11 games are scheduled with only 5 minutes between games. All teams are required to be at the game field 10 minutes before their game for check in. The 11 v 11 games typically work with a 4-referee rotation and the referee that is off will check you in before the previous game in finished. Also, our rules give the referee or the field marshal the right to cancel or shorten games to stay on schedule. Twenty (20) minutes of play constitutes a "legal" game for the tournament. Due to all the logistical issues of a 4 game tournament (field, referee and field marshal availability) we never reschedule games.
Maps & Directions - all teams play all their games at the same site (except night games). Find your field on the maps and print out your directions

Rules will be in the tournament book and are here on our website.
Field Marshals: Our field marshals wear yellow vests that can be seen from a distance. They are to have quick access to a cell phone in case of emergency. If you can’t see a field marshal from your location, notify the snack bar people who will look into it. The field marshals may be momentarily out of sight between games while they deliver scores to the scoring tables.
Game Balls: When you register, you will be given a new soccer ball. It will be your responsibility to supply the game ball for each of your HOME games (when you are listed first on the schedule). You may use the ball we give you or any ball that is acceptable to the referee.
Longstreth will be the soccer apparel vendor at all sites. They will be at County both days. On Saturday they will be at Quarry and Jasper. On Sunday they will be at Air Products and Haines Mill.
Concession stands will be at all sites. Please stop by for refreshments and to check out the scores. T-shirts will be on sale at the concession stands until sold out.
Lost and found will be at the concession stand at your site. Unclaimed items are held for 30 days and then donated. After the tournament email jansteltz@aol.com with site and item description.
Trophies - are awarded as soon as results are final. In cases where the results are certain but the last game is not concluded, the Site Coordinator may give out the trophies early.
Good Luck and Have Fun …
